About the Students: The students of Wells-Barkerville school are a hardy bunch who readily play through the long winters and are surrounded by the natural world in this unique, small community in central British Columbia. Many of the stories in Amazing Animal Tales reflect the students’ close relationship with nature and the creatures who inhabit it.
About the Community: Located in rugged, central BC and at the centre of a historic gold-rush, the Wells area once boasted a golf course, ski jumping and an auto race track… The town steadily shrunk as most small communities have. Today, Wells has created a new identify as a artisan hamlet and gateway to both the famous Bowron Lake chain and of course, Barkerville Historic Park, the largest historic site in North America.
